Bay County

As Hurricane Helene impacted nearly the entire state of Florida in late September, Bay County experienced firsthand the importance of stable, reliable public service systems.

After implementing CityView nearly a year ago, Bay County has seen significant improvements in its permitting processes, which had been instrumental during the storm. Here’s what Director of Community Development, Ian Crelling, had to say about Bay County's journey with CityView:

“As I am sure you are aware, Hurricane Helene is affecting almost the entire state of Florida and will have lasting impacts across the state.

We have been live with CityView since October 14 of last year, and it has been very comforting this week to know that our new online permitting system will stay open through and after this storm passes. Since going live, we have seen a drastic decline in phone calls, walk-ins and daily traffic.

Over this past year, we have been able to expedite our permit review while also making our processes more efficient for our citizens and contractors.

I want to share a quick note of thanks to CityView for helping us along this journey. We still have many improvements to work on – but we are so far ahead of where we were just 11 months ago.

Stability in the midst of storms and chaos is reassuring.”

CityView is proud to support Bay County as it continues its progress toward a more efficient, resilient permitting system. We extend our gratitude to Ian and the Bay County team for trusting us to stand with them, especially in challenging times.
