The Municipality of Chatham-Kent, the largest in southwestern Ontario, is the first customer to go live with CityView’s latest product offering: Vital Records, which includes the tracking of marriage licensing and death registration.
This new offering by CityView serves to continue the Municipality’s initiative to improve efficiencies by streamlining internal processes and increasing online services to citizens. Chatham-Kent first contracted with CityView in April of 2013 to replace its aging legacy systems. The advantage of CityView for the Municipality is using one integrated system for all planning, building, bylaw enforcement and licensing services, ensuring that information flows seamlessly between departments.
“Both our staff and citizens alike will benefit from the addition of CityView’s Vital Records modules; staff will be better able to record, track and search for the information our citizens are requesting, and having all of the information available at our fingertips will help speed up processing for our constituents,” said Catherine Fitzgerald, Project Manger for Chatham-Kent.
The implementation of Vital Records represented phase two of a three-phase implementation project. The Municipality also implemented business licensing, parking tickets and parking permits in this phase, and has been using CityView Permits and Inspections, Planning, Bylaw Enforcement and Animal Licensing since January.
The next phase of Chatham-Kent’s CityView implementation will include even more enhancements and convenience for citizens: Service Requests and Citizen Portal.
