Belleville, Ontario upgrades its technology by migrating from CityView Desktop to its browser-based interface, Workspace. This allows staff to access CityView data from anywhere with an internet connection.
With this recent migration, Belleville also added on CityView’s unique Microsoft Word Add-in tool to its existing suite of CityView solutions. Staff can capitalize on the familiar user-friendly, powerful editing features of Word and merge CityView data seamlessly into its letter outputs, thus increasing productivity.
Due to coronavirus concerns, CityView delivered all of Belleville’s end-user training remotely with newly-developed virtual training material that was well received by City staff members. Belleville also migrated its CityView Permits & Inspections, Property Information, Bylaw Enforcement and Cashiering modules to the Workspace platform.
Last summer, Belleville launched CityView Portal, an intuitive self-service platform that combines payment functionality to allow citizens to apply for permits, check inspection results and pay fees online 24/7. The online service saves customers valuable time and keeps them safe at home, without the need to visit City Hall in order to complete tasks.
