February 16, 2017: VICTORIA, BC: CityView is pleased welcome the City of Bend as its first customer in the state of Oregon. The City will replace its legacy system with CityView’s integrated licensing, permitting, inspections and land management system.
“The City selected CityView because of its functionality and flexibility, and because of the company’s experience and expertise,” said Bend City Manager Eric King. “The software is also compatible with the City's information technology standards and infrastructure.” The City will implement CityView Property Information, Permits & Inspections , Planning, Code Enforcement, Business Licensing, Cashiering and Electronic Plans Review. CityView software will help centralize the institutional practices of multiple Bend departments across an electronic base, offering a paperless flow of land management activities between the City, its departments and its customers.
In addition, Bend will take advantage of CityView’s field solutions for building, code enforcement and business inspections. This will enable inspectors to be paperless in the field and provide real time information to City Hall and their customers of inspection outcomes. Furthermore, the citizens of Bend and business owners resident or abroad will be provided the ability to self-serve online, around the clock. The project is slated to begin in July.
“We welcome the City of Bend and the State of Oregon to our growing CityView community,” said Sean Higgins, Executive Vice President of CityView. “Twenty years ago that community included customers from one U.S. state and it now encompasses 36 states. We’re looking forward to providing the City with an integrated system for all of its land management needs on the latest in Browser technology and user-assist capabilities, CityView Workspace.”
The City of Bend is the largest City in Central Oregon. The Census Bureau reports that Bend is the 8th fastest growing metro area out of nearly 400 in the nation. And, the Milken Institute recently ranked Bend as the top-performing small metro – out of over 200 in the nation – for creating and sustaining jobs.
