The migration from CityView Desktop to CityView Workspace simplifies access to data for the staff of Chattanooga’s code enforcement department.
The City of Chattanooga, Tennessee recently migrated from CityView Desktop, which is based on a client-server model, to the hosted (cloud) version of CityView Workspace. This simplifies access to CityView data for Chattanooga’s code enforcement staff, since they only need an internet connection to track cases from citizen request to resolution.
Shane Miller, the City’s Project Manager overseeing the implementation, said “Harris and CityView played a critical role in the City of Chattanooga's upgrade to the CityView Cloud. Both teams were responsive, highly-skilled and willing to work hand-in-hand with City staff, despite the unique obstacles of conducting a large-scale project during the COVID-19 crisis.”
Not only does Workspace provide Chattanooga with a clean, modern browser interface and an intuitive, user-assist design, it reduces the burden on IT staff since there is no software to install, ever.
CityView Code Enforcement increases efficiency for Chattanooga by:
- Improving access to information
- Utilizing time-saving workflows
- Ensuring inspector accountability and reducing liability
During the migration, Chattanooga also moved its CityView Property Information module to the cloud and added CityView’s unique Microsoft Word Add-In tool. This tool allows the City to create its own standardized correspondence templates, taking advantage of Words’ powerful editing features while being able to merge CityView data seamlessly into its letter outputs.
