As part of a multi-year project to modernize outdated software at the City of Bend, Oregon, and to fulfill the commitment the City made to its community to improve services through innovation, CityView is pleased to announce that Bend is now live on the CityView Portal and CityView’s modern, browser-based interface, Workspace.
Bend’s new Online Permit Center is especially helpful in maintaining COVID-19 protocols of social distancing and contactless environments. This provides customers with a safe and convenient online self-service experience.

As evidenced by the 550 Portal accounts created on day one of the portal’s launch, it’s clear that City of Bend customers were eager for self-service options. CityView is pleased to be a key player in helping the City realize their goal of connecting community members to government.
Due to a significant investment of resources, by both CityView and Bend, during the expanded implementation, the go-live went very well. “For the majority of our customers, the transition for the web portal was seamless and there were no major issues,” said Denise Wallace, project manager for the City. In fact, CityView helped Bend collect and process 66 permit applications, 42 inspection requests and more than $40,000 in fees and charges on day one.
“As the CityView team worked to accommodate Bend’s specific and unique business requirements, many enhancements were added to the software that will benefit all CityView users. The City of Bend has been an amazing partner to work with,” said CityView project manager David Hill.
Bend also transitioned its community development activities to CityView’s browser-based interface, Workspace, so that employees can access the database anytime, anywhere as long as they have an internet connection. It simplifies the transition to a more remote work environment due to COVID-19 protocols.
