CityView Software Enables the County to Increase Electronic Processing and Improve Efficiency for both Staff and Customers
March 9, 2017: VICTORIA, BC: Kane County, IL, with a population of over 500,000, is now live on CityView! Having used CityView’s legacy product (CityView 8) for over a decade, the County has upgraded to the current version of the CityView modules including Property Information, Permits & Inspections, Planning, Business Licensing, Animal Licensing, and Cashiering.
CityView Portal, which will go live this summer, will enable the County to further promote efficient services to its citizens to include public access to permitting and licensing information. Citizens will be able to apply for, review statuses of, and pay for a variety of permits such as access, fireworks, special events, building, stormwater and more. Business owners will be able to do the same for Coin Operated Amusement Devices and Machines (COAD) licensing, food renewals, and liquor licenses.
“This upgrade will allow Kane County to further extend electronic processing and promote better communication among our departments and external partners. We consider it another step towards better efficiency and public access to information in our permitting and licensing processes,” said Barb Garza, Project Manager.
“We greatly value the long-time partnership we’ve enjoyed with Kane County, and are pleased to provide all of our long-term customers with a continuous and cost-effective path forward through technology change, towards ever greater efficiencies for them and their constituents,” said Sean Higgins, Executive Vice President of CityView.
The Fabyan Windmill in Kane’s County seat of Geneva is on the National Register of Historic Places. The windmill is an authentic, working Dutch windmill dating from the 1850s. The five-story wooden smock mill with a stage stands 68 feet tall and sits upon the one-time estate of Colonel George Fabyan, but is now part of the Kane County Forest Preserve District. It originally operated as a custom grinding mill.
