December 17, 2015: VICTORIA, BC : CityView is pleased to welcome the City of South Jordan, Utah to its growing list of customers.
The primary objective of South Jordan’s software search was to find a system that would mitigate or eliminate duplicate data entry and manual processes for staff, while offering online services to citizens. The system needed to be comprehensive enough to track the entirety of the land management process in a cohesive fashion.
The CityView Portal will enable South Jordan to offer online self-service to its citizens for the first time. CityView’s Microsoft Word and Outlook add-ins will boost staff productivity through data sharing between applications. Moreover, South Jordan will benefit from enhanced integration with other City systems as well as improved querying and reporting capabilities.
In addition to using CityView’s Property Information, Permits & Inspections, Planning, Code Enforcement, Business Licensing and Cashiering, South Jordan will incorporate mobile capabilities for building and code enforcement inspections; electronic plans review (a paperless procedure that shortens the municipal review process); and GIS integration.
Corinne Cowdell, Executive Assistant with South Jordan, explains how the organization came to select CityView: “Of all the systems we evaluated, CityView flowed best and looked easiest to use.It looked like it was already ours. As our City grows, new processes are constantly added and CityView’s flexible system adapts easily when changes need to be made. We’re looking forward to using it for enhancing services to our customers and increasing efficiency within the City.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome South Jordan to our CityView customer community,” said Sean Higgins, Executive Vice President of CityView. “It’s wonderful to be able to provide our customers with a solution that’s comfortable to use, centralizes all land management business activities and augments their service offerings to constituents.”
With a population of 67,007, South Jordan City is one of the fastest growing and largest cities in the State of Utah. In 2012, the US Census Bureau declared South Jordan City as the second fastest growing City in the nation for Cites over 50,000 in population. The City lies in the Salt Lake Valley between the 9,000-foot peaks of the Oquirrh Mountains and the 12,000-foot peaks of the Wasatch Mountains and is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area.
