The City of Welland, ON Chooses CityView to Automate their Permitting and Inspection Processes
The City joins numerous Ontario clients in selecting CityView
August 14, 2018: VICTORIA, BC: The City of Welland, ON has selected CityView, leading community development software, to automate and manage their building permit processes and provide field access to inspection staff.With robust economic growth expected, the City was looking for a solution to replace their manual permitting and inspections processes so that they are able to deliver better service, improve access to information for staff, and increase efficiency.
“As we modernize our permitting and inspections services, it’s paramount that we improve our internal permit processing – from reducing the amount of data entered to ensuring that our workflows are streamlined and being followed,” said Jack Tosta, Chief Building Official, City of Welland. “Managing and tracking information in one place, entering data while in the field, and automating workflows allows us to do this while improving service delivery.”

The City will implement CityView Select for Property Information and Permits & Inspections. They will also implement CityView Mobile, a solution that allows inspectors to view all the information for their day on a mobile device and to initiate and process their inspections in the field.
The City of Welland is located in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula and conveniently nestled between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. The City is approximately 86 square kilometres and home to over 52,000 residents. With easy access to provincial highways, Welland is just seventy-five minutes from downtown Toronto and roughly 30 minutes from Buffalo.
